Tumor Type–Based Test Selection Now Available for Select Foundation Orders Copied

If you are using Precision Medicine Electronic Ordering in iKnowMed, you can now select immunohistochemisty (IHC) tests for certain Foundation orders using a Tumor Type–based option. This new selection method allows Foundation’s pathology experts to determine the most clinically relevant IHC tests based on the tumor information you provide.

What’s new

A new Tumor Type–based selection option for IHC test is now available on the electronic requisition for the following Precision Medicine tests:

• FoundationOne® CDx panel
• FoundationOne® Heme panel
• Foundation Medicine IHC Only panel

After selecting the Tumor Type–based option, you can search for and choose the appropriate tumor type. Based on the tumor and clinical information provided, Foundation Medicine will perform the applicable tests for that tumor type. Manual selection of individual tests is still available and has not changed.
