Orders: Billing designation displays on printed non-medication orders Copied

What’s changing

When a billing designation is selected for a non-medication order, that value will appear on the printed order.

The Bill field supports three values:

• Insurance
• Research
• Do Not Bill (Other Reason)

Whichever is selected will be clearly visible when the order is printed from any of the following locations:

• Flowsheet > Non-medication order details
• Flowsheet (prior date order) > Click today’s empty cell
• Flowsheet (multiple prior date orders) > Click today’s empty cell > Select prior order
• Order History > Non-medication order details

Why this matters

Previously, this information was captured in the system but did not carry through to the printed output, leaving fulfillment staff without the billing context they needed to process the order correctly. Going forward, they will have the billing designation in front of them at the point of fulfillment. This means no guesswork and no follow-up needed.
