Practice Insights is pleased to announce updates in the application to support the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

MIPS Quality Measures Dashboard

The MIPS Quality Measures Dashboard has been updated to reflect 2022 specification changes for:

Measure Update Practice Impact
MIPS 047: Advance Care Plan The selection for “Copy Requested” in the section for Advance Care Directives in the Advance Care Planning Care Plan will no longer be considered numerator met if the Advance Directive has not been attached and no other numerator met criteria documentation has been completed.

  • The numerator met criteria is listed below:
  • Advance Directive attached to the chart with the Document Type Advance directives declaration
  • In the Advance Care Plan:
    • ACP Counseling Date
    • Yes to Values Assessment with Date
    • ACP Introduced, patient did not want to discuss further
    • ACP Visit 99497 or 99498
    • Surrogate Decision-maker documented or declined
 Practices may notice a decrease in their numerator.

 
MIPS 226: Tobacco Screening and Cessation & MIPS 238: High-Risk Medications In Older Adults An asterisk has been added to MIPS 226 and MIPS 238 indicating which rate is scored for the MIPS submission.

An asterisk ‘*’ visible on the rate title to indicate the footnote “This rate is scored for MIPS performance”.

 There is no practice impact. This is a visual indicator update only.

Status of Dashboard Updates for 2022

CMS releases updates to the quality measure specifications annually for the MIPS program and bi-annually for the OCM program. These measure specifications have been reviewed and Practice Insights is currently working on the required technical updates to align with the revised requirements. McKesson will continue to notify practices once measures have been updated based on the current 2022 requirements. The measures listed below either have no 2022 update required or have been updated.
