May 1, 2026 Release Highlights Copied

MIPS Quality Measures Dashboard

Starting Monday, May 4, 2026, the following measures will be removed from the dashboard:

  • MIPS 134: Preventive Care Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan (Registry/CQM version)
  • MIPS 487: Screening for Social Drivers for Health
  • PIMSH 18: Resolution or Improvement of a Health-Related Social Need

Additionally, the asterisks previously displayed in the dashboard footer notes for both the eCQM and Registry/CQM versions of MIPS 134 have been removed.

Performance Improvements

We’ve optimized the MIPS Quality Measures Dashboard to improve speed and usability.

What this means for your practice

  • Faster dashboard load times
  • Quicker navigation and data access
  • A smoother day-to-day experience

Most practices should see the dashboard load about twice as fast as before.

The MIPS Quality Measures Dashboard will be updated to reflect the following:

Measure Update Practice Impact
MIPS 450: Appropriate Treatment for Patients with Stage I (T1c)-III HER2 Positive Breast Cancer Denominator:
Technical fix to ensure denominator logic only allows pathologic staging for denominator credit.

Updated denominator logic to include patients diagnosed with AJCC Stage I (IA or IB) breast cancer with T‑stage T1c (G9832)

Added new cancer diagnosis ICD-10 codes: C50.A0, C50.A1, C50.A2

Practices will notice a decrease in Denominator and Numerator.
MIPS 134: Preventive Care Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan (eCQM version) Numerator:
Patients with an active depression medication overlapping the qualifying encounter is now a qualifier, in addition to existing screening plus follow-up logic.

Technical enhancement to update the Detail Report to clearly show when patients miss the numerator due to follow-up plan or Plan Date missing. Allows practices to differentiate between missing follow‑up plans, missing Plan Dates, or incomplete documentation.

Removal of the four asterisks from the Measure ID and Measure Name.

Practices will notice a minimal increase in performance.
PIMSH 21: Screening and Achieving Resolution or Improvement of Distress for Cancer Care This is a new QCDR measure gauging patients who are screened for distress and, if the screening is positive, achieve resolution within distress level or improvement of at least one concern within 6 months Establish a numerator and denominator for this new measure.

New measures in their first year of reporting.

EOM Performance Dashboard

The EOM Performance Measures Dashboard will be updated to reflect the following:

Measure Update Practice Impact
EOM-4B: Pain Care Plan Denominator:
Added new cancer diagnosis ICD-10 codes: C50.A0, C50.A1, C50.A2 for both Criteria’s.

Patients on oral chemotherapy during the performance period are now qualifiers.

Practices will not notice a shift in data.

Status of Dashboard Updates for 2026

CMS releases updates to the quality measure specifications annually for the MIPS program. These measure specifications have been reviewed, and Practice Insights is working on the required technical updates to align with the revised requirements. Ontada will continue to notify practices once measures have been updated based on the current 2026 requirements.

The following measures have been fully updated for the 2026 measure year:
