June 14, 2024 Release Highlights Copied
Practice Insights is pleased to announce updates in the application to support the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), the NCCN Distress Thermometer, and Advance Care Planning (ACP).
MIPS Quality Measures Dashboard
- PIMSH #15: Antiemetic Therapy for Low- and Minimal-Emetic-Risk Antineoplastic Agents in the Infusion Center – Avoidance of Overuse (inverse) and PIMSH #16: Appropriate Antiemetic Therapy for High- and Moderate-Emetic-Risk Antineoplastic Agents in the Infusion Center have been updated to attribute patients to their attending provider after further discussion with the measure steward ASCO.
- Originally, patients were attributed to the most recently documented provider in line with previous guidance. This led to patients being attributed to clinicians who are not necessarily responsible for the patient’s treatment decisions.
- The dashboard has also been updated to display all i-Sections. Previously, the links were not accessible, and practices were utilizing the documentation provided.
- The dashboard has also been updated to include a new measure, MIPS #487: Screening for Social Drivers of Health as detailed below.
- The electronic version of the NCCN Distress Thermometer available in Ontada Health and the iKnowMed Patient Hx tab will be used to calculate MIPS #487. If the patient submits the NCCN Distress Thermometer through Ontada Health or a practice user documents the NCCN Distress Thermometer in iKnowMed, either would be considered for the measure.
- The documentation is only complete when a distress score is entered, or any concerns are documented. The measure intends to ensure screening is performed, so charting by exception meets the intent.

McKesson will continue to notify practices once measures have been updated based on the current 2024 requirements. The measures listed below either have no 2024 update required or have been updated.
