Improvements in the VBC Care Plan Copied

Document patients’ decision to opt out of sociodemographic data sharing

New and existing VBC Care Plans will now include the ability to indicate a patient’s decision to opt out of sharing their sociodemographic data with the CMS Innovation Center. A simple checkbox accompanied by a field to record the date of the opt-out will be displayed in the Patient Notification of Program section (callout 1).

This enhancement allows practices participating in the Enhancing Oncology Model (EOM) to identify patients who have opted out of sharing their sociodemographic information with CMMI, enhancing transparency and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Dietary Consult orders now update the Dietitian Referral section

Going forward placing a new order for a Dietary Consult for a patient will automatically update the status of the Dietitian Referral section to yes and add the referral date into the VBC Care Plan (callout 1).

This streamlines the process, ensuring that all relevant information regarding the dietary consultation is documented and accessible within the care plan. In a future release, previous orders for a Dietary Consult will be automatically added to care plans.
