Carequality Pre-fetch Copied
In our ongoing commitment to optimizing interoperability, we are enhancing the Carequality feature in iKnowMed. Your Ontada Technology Account Manager will be sharing when this new functionality is available for your practice.
Background
Users may have experienced delays when searching for patient records through the Carequality feature. These delays are primarily caused by the interaction between our Surescripts and Carequality vendors, which operate independently of iKnowMed.
Enhancement
To streamline search efficiency, we have implemented a solution that pre-extracts the past 5 years of patient records from our vendors 72 hours prior to a patient’s visit and temporarily stores them in the iKnowMed database.
iKnowMed Integration
With pre-extracted patient records, users may not have to perform a manual search for patient records. Launching the External Records tab will automatically pull those records from the iKnowMed database if the record is available.
The results pulled from our database will appear in the results table, and the automatic search will still identify the initiator and time of the search for visibility and accountability.
Lastly, these results will also appear in the audit trail, allowing users to track the search history for record-keeping and analysis.
