What’s changing
Note: This update applies to both the iKnowMed desktop and mobile apps.
Ensora, our e-prescribing vendor, is enhancing security for e-prescribing. In this upgrade, they will replace their current Exostar authentication process through the Authy app with ID.me for electronic prescribing for controlled substances (EPCS).
This upgrade will not change how you e-prescribe in iKnowMed. There will be no extra steps or changes to your daily workflow. This only affects the way you authenticate your identity when prescribing controlled substances.
Following this release, you will see a notification in the desktop app prompting you to transition to ID.me 15 days before your Exostar authentication license expires:
The digital signature window will continue to support the same secure authentication methods you’re used to: push notification and authentication code.
After transitioning to ID.me, the iKnowMed mobile app digital signature screen will change to align with the desktop app, supporting push notification and authentication code.
