Enhanced appointment request display in patient portal Copied

To improve the clarity of appointment request statuses for patients, we’re updating the way new appointment, reschedule appointment, and cancel appointment requests appear in the Ontada Health patient portal.

What’s Changing?

Previously, when a patient submitted an appointment request, the request card remained visible in the portal even after the practice had completed the task in the Ontada Health admin tools.

With this update, once the associated task is closed by your practice, the request card will automatically be updated or removed from the patient’s view in the portal based on the following:

  • New Appointment: When a patient requests a new appointment, and your practice closes the task in the admin tools, the request will no longer be visible under Appointments > Upcoming.
  • Reschedule Appointment: When a patient requests to reschedule an appointment, and your practice closes the task in the admin tools, the pending rescheduled request card will be removed from Appointments > Upcoming.
  • Cancel Appointment: When a patient requests to cancel an appointment, and your practice closes the task in the admin tools, the pending cancellation request card will be removed from Appointments > Upcoming.

Additionally, these requests will be updated and removed from the admin tools under Support Tools > Patients > View Portal to keep your practice’s view in sync with the patient’s.

Upon release, any existing request cards linked to already closed tasks will be updated or removed from patient and practice views.
